Ocean Signal rescueME PLB1
The The Ocean Signal rescueME PLB1 provides peace of mind on land or at sea allowing you to alert global emergency services of your location at the push of a button.
Ocean Signal rescueME PLB1 comes with a flotation case to allow the device to float in a marine environment.
Unlike most satellite enabled notification devices, the Ocean Signal rescueME PLB1 requires no monthly or annual subscription, making it one of the most cost effective GPS enabled emergency beacons available for long term use.
Ocean Signal rescueME PLB1 Key Features:
The Ocean Signal PLB1 is 30% smaller (typ) by volume, so it easily fits on a lifejacket or a rucksack strap! Also, the retractable antenna, to assit in the transmission of your GPS location, can be easily stowed away by turning the dial at the top of the device.
The Ocean Signal RescueME PLB1 comes with a 7 Warranty as well as up to 7 Year Standby Battery life. However, once you have activated the PLB1 in an emergency or the battery reaches the expiry period, the battery must be replaced.
Please note that the battery is not user replaceable and must be sent to an authorised service dealer for replacement. Please contact the your nearest service centre in your country for further information.
Whether you are on land or at sea, the PLB1 provides peace of mind that global emergency service can be alerted at the push of a button.
The Ocean Signal PLB1 can be activated single-handed, even in the most challenging situations due to the simple spring loaded flap at the front of the device. This cover covers the activation button, to prevent inadvertent use.
Once the emergency button is pressed on your PLB, your location will be sent to a rescue coordination centre via satellite. This SOS is then diverted to emergency services near to your location to aid rescue. The location will be continuously sent for a minimum of 24 hours.
Also, the high-density brightness strobe light helps Search and Rescue services to locate you, if you are out in the middle of the ocean or in a remote location on land, at night.
In addition to the PLB1 being waterproof in 15 meters for 1 hour, the free pouch provided with the RescueME PLB enables the device to float!
Please note that the PLB will not float in an operating position in the pouch. Please ensure the PLB is firmly attached to the pouch with the provided lanyard, using suitable self locking knots
Registering your Personal Locator Beacon is required by law in most countries. Registering is very important because should your beacon ever be activated, it is how Search and Rescue Teams will know who you are, and contacts provided may be able to supply information about your specific travel plans. In the absence of this information, it may take longer for a search-and-rescue operation to begin.
All Personal Locator Beacons sold by GTC are pre-programmed with the UK country code. Whilst they will function anywhere around the world, the first authority to be contacted in an emergency situation would be the UK Coastguard Agency in Falmouth with whom the PLB would be registered. Full instructions on how to register will be provided upon receipt of your order.
If you wish to register in a country other than the UK please enter your desired country of registration before adding to basket. We can then configure your PLB free of charge before shipment.
This Ocean Signal PLB should only be used in situations of grave and imminent danger to life. False alerts endanger lives and cause expensive disruption to Search & Rescue services. Deliberate misuse of the device could result in a penalty.
Please note that PLBs will not work underwater and should be used in a canister if you intend to carry at a depth exceeding the maximum depth stated in the technical specification.
