The Cobham Sailor 4065 is a satellite distress beacon designed to operate in conjunction with the Cospas-Sarsat international satellite Search and Rescue system.

To activate this Cobham Sailor 4065, the EPIRB must be removed from it mounting bracket and manually pushing a button on top of the EPIRB.
Once activated, the EPIRB's high intensity strobe light will shine to aid Search and Rescue operators especially in poor visibility events.
Global Distress Alerting
The global Cospas Sarsat Satellite system is able to locate the Sailor 4065 transmitting on the 406MHz frequency within 5km. Also, the121.5MHz homing beacon frequency is also able to aid the final location.
The Sailor 4065 EPIRB has a battery life of up to 10 Years, but a health check is recommended every 5 Years. Once activated, the EPIRB wil operate and transmit your GPS location for a minimum of 48 hours.
The beacon is programmed with a unique serial number, which must be registered with the national authorities.
