The Thuraya pre-paid SIM card is compatible with all Thuraya handsets. The SIM itself comes with 10 units of airtime to get you started and works where ever you are in the Thuraya coverage area.

The first call must be placed within 6 months of SIM activation. The SIM is then valid for one month after the first call (if no scratchcards have been added). Scratchcards raise the credit on the account and extend the validity of the SIM as stated next to options above.

There is a 2 month grace period from the moment of scratchcard expiry. Remaining credit is lost. All services, except incoming calls, are barred during this period. If the user uploads a new scratchcard the card will automatically be activated again. Validity starts again from the date of the upload. If there is no upload in this period the card enters the reactivation period.

There is a four month reactivation period. All services are barred (including incoming calls). In this period the user has to upload a new scratchcard and pay a reactivation fee of $25.00. This fee is deducted from the credit the user uploads.

After the reactivation period the SIM is deactivated and no reactivation is possible.

Pre-Paid airtime is non-refundable.
