Inmarsat’s Broadband Global Area Network – BGAN – provides both simultaneous voice and data, globally. It also offers a portfolio of guaranteed, on-demand IP streaming rates, and is the service of choice for many people working in areas that have little or no terrestrial connectivity.

BGAN offers a range of data connections to suit a variety of different applications. Its Standard IP data service provides users with a data connection speed up to half a megabit, suitable for standard office-type applications such as email, internet and intranet access and VPN access to corporate networks.

The BGAN IP streaming rates range from 32kbps to 256kbps and BGAN X-Stream™, as well as supporting ISDN at 64kbps. They are guaranteed and on-demand meaning that you can select a streaming rate anytime, and anywhere for any streaming application ranging from videoconferencing, through to the top end of the scale for live broadcasting via satellite.

Inmarsat Broadband Global Area Network (BGAN) enables you to :

• Make phone calls at the same time as accessing data applications wherever you are on the planet.
• Benefit from select guaranteed data rates up to 450kbps. BGAN also supports on demand ISDN.
• Access email, the internet, corporate networks and easily send large file attachments over a secure connection at speeds up to 492kbps.
• Send and receive text messages via a laptop PC to or from any mobile phone.

Inmarsat BGAN X-Stream

BGAN X-Stream is Inmarsat's newest and fastest ever streaming service offering guaranteed streaming data rates from a minimum of 384kbps up to approximately 450kbps.
