Our Customers

Here at Global Telesat Communications we have a wide range of customers, both individuals and organisations, who use satellite communications in a variety of different industries and activities.

To give you an idea of some of the areas satellite phones and terminals can be used in we have created profiles of a selection of our customers and the way they use satellite communications.

Himalayan Experience
Himalayan Experience
Himalayan Experience offers guided mountaineering and trekking expeditions to Everest, Manaslu and Lobuche Peak. They use two BGAN terminals to carry out operations from their Everest Base camp. Russell Brice from Himalayan Experience says, "One is basically like an internet cafe where my clients receive and send their emails. The other system is for my personal use where I run my business for the organisation for future climbing expeditions and I also receive the local Everest weather forecast from a company called Meteotest in Switzerland. With this information I am able to determine when our team should be summiting Everest." Clearly the use of satellite communications not only enables Russell to run his business in such a remote location but also ensure the safety of his clients.

NDC Consultants
NDC Consultants
NDC supply survey, design and installation services to the transport, utility and construction sectors. Part of their work on a project for Network Rail involved working on remote railway lines in the Scottish Highlands where there was little or no mobile phone coverage and so NDC decided satellite phone rental was the way forward. Stuart Williams from NDC says, "Due to the dangers involved with railway work we must always ensure our staff have a constant source of communication incase of emergency situations. The remoteness of these areas would have proved almost impossible to summon immediate emergency help via a normal mobile phone system. We chose Global Telesat because their website was very impressive and their customer service was excellent with prompt response and friendly attitude. A pleasure to do business with!" Once again the use of satellite communications proves essential for both communication and safety purposes in remote areas.

Humanity First
Humanity First
Humanity First is an international aid agency that provides aid and assistance to those in need irrespective of race, religion or politics. When the earthquake struck Haiti in January 2010, Humanity First immediately sent teams out to help the victims of the disaster. The damage caused by the earthquake meant that traditional communications in Haiti were near impossible and so Humanity First recognised the advantages of satellite communications. Before leaving the UK they had a last minute requirement to rent a BGAN satellite terminal which was provided by Global Telesat Communications and used by the team for vital communications.

Charitable Organisations

At Global Telesat Communications we often deal with enquiries from charitable organisations that recognise the importance of satellite communications to aid their work in remote locations. In some circumstances we can offer discounted rates on equipment sales, rental and airtime to assist these organisations who are temporarily working overseas. We can only offer this to organisations which are registered charities in the UK. If you are interested in working with GTC and meet our initial criteria please contact us with your registered charity number and details of your project.
